The Foot and Ankle Center at Northern Arizona Orthopaedics is home to the only board certified, fellowship trained foot and ankle surgeon in the region. Highly regarded as one of the best, Stephen Knecht, M.D., is an orthopaedic foot and ankle doctor with additional specialized training in foot and ankle disorders. These may include problems of the bones, joints, ligaments, muscles, tendons, nerves, and skin. He uses medical, physical and rehabilitative methods, as well as surgery, to treat patients of all ages and walks of life – from world-class athletes and developmentally disabled children, to your neighbor next door.

Working in tandem with Dr. Knecht is physician assistant Mary Anne Persons, PA-C. Mary Anne, a licensed medical provider, is highly skilled in the foot and ankle field of medicine. She has had extensive training and experience in how to examine, diagnose, prescribe medications, treat and assist in surgery. Together, the two providers form a team that seeks to not only treat, but also personalize the care experience at the Foot and Ankle Center.
