Jamie Pearson, PA-C
Jamie has enjoyed providing compassionate patient care for more than 30 years. She began her career in medicine as an Emergency Medical Technician, then a registered nurse. In 1997 she graduated as a Physician Assistant from Des Moines University, Iowa. For five years she practiced family medicine before getting an opportunity to join an orthopedic group. She has been practicing orthopedics for the past 13 years. She moved her family to Prescott Valley from St. Croix Falls, Wis. in 2014 to join NAO. She and her family are enjoying the warm-weather outdoor activities here including hiking, biking and exploring her new home state.
“Patient care has been a part of my life for the past 30 years,” says Jamie. “My desire to help people began as a nursing assistant caring for residence in a nursing home. Being a good listener has been very effective from the beginning. I have carried this skill through my work as a emergency medical technician, registered nurse and since 1997, a physician assistant. My training and years of experience as a physician assistant allows me to listen to a persons complaints and help treat their problems to improve the quality of their lives.”
Orthopaedic surgery has always been an interest of Jamie’s. She worked directly with a Mayo-trained orthopaedic surgeon for ten years in St. Croix Falls, WI. She and the surgeon were the orthopaedic providers for a 25-bed hospital and performed 600 orthopaedic surgical case per year, including trauma and elective surgery like joint replacement to carpal tunnel release. She has been trained to perform therapeutic cortisone and viscosupplementation injections (excluding spine) and is recognized for her minimally painful technique.
