Stephen Randazzo, FNP
My name is Stephen Randazzo, FNP and I am a nurse practitioner at Northern Arizona Orthopaedics in Flagstaff. I grew up in Louisiana and first went to college at Southeastern Louisiana University in Hammond, and graduated with a bachelor’s degree. I then moved to California and was unhappy in business and felt drawn to help others and make a difference in people’s lives. After a lot of soul searching, I decided to become a registered nurse (RN) and then, a nurse practitioner. I went back to school and graduated from Fresno State University as an RN 1995 and in 1998 graduated with a Masters of Science Nursing (MSN) as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP). I was nationally certified in the same year. While in the masters program I worked as an RN at a Level-one Trauma Center in Intensive Care for over 3 years. This also included medical-surgical and emergency nursing.
I began my career as an NP in 1998, working in family practice for about 4 years to gain as much comprehensive medical knowledge as possible, before moving on to specialties. My first specialty job was in Allergies Asthma and Immunology, where I provided care for 4 years. For years, I had wanted to move to Flagstaff and was able to finally move in 2004 after accepting an orthopedic surgical position with Northern Arizona Orthopaedics. I remained in that position for nine years until I temporarily left NAO for 2 years to pursue other adventures and employment in spine and pain management, before returning to work with Dr Ledington and the PM&R team in the Spine and Pain Center. I am now very happy to be back at NAO and privileged to work with Dr Ledington as well.
I love helping people and although medicine has taken many twist and turns through the years I remain happy serving and caring for people. I have many hobbies. I especially love the outdoors and never seem to find too many reasons to play outside and and thus the reason I love Flagstaff.
