Injection Therapy at NAO
Injection therapy is offered by NAO’s surgical and non-surgical teams in the Spine and Pain Center. Usually, it is prescribed for either diagnostic (investigating the problem) or therapeutic (treating the problem) reasons.
When a patient receives injection therapy, many times their symptoms improve with the injections, which helps the physician determine whether the patient is a surgical candidate or not. The injections also help pinpoint where in the spine the painful symptoms are coming from. This is crucial information to help provide our patients with the most accurate answers and develop a proper care plan to relieve them of their pain. Getting patients back to a life where they are able to enjoy activities and a quality of life, is our goal.
Most of the injections performed in the Spine and Pain Center are done inside the Summit Center at the Northern Arizona Healthcare Orthopedic Surgery Center on the first floor. Patients appreciate the convenience of because they are done in the same facility as NAO, eliminating the need to travel for these pain-relieving injections. Some of the injections we perform at NAO include:
- Cervical Epidural Steroid Injections
- Lumbar Epidural Steroid Injections
- Lumbar Transforaminal Epidural Steroid Injections
- Facet Injections
- Trigger Point Injections
- Sacro-Iliac (SI) Joint Injections
- Medial Branch Block
