Eamonn Mahoney, M.D.

Orthopaedic Spine

Dr. Mahoney is a board certified, fellowship-trained Orthopaedic Surgeon specializing in Spine, with more than 11 years surgical experience. A new member of the Spine and Pain Center at NAO, he is considered a specialist in minimally invasive back and neck surgery. Utilizing technology and techniques currently considered state-of-the-art in spine surgery, and with an appreciation for innovation, Dr. Mahoney practices approaches to surgical spine interventions, such as minimally invasive fusion using a Transforaminal Lumbar Interbody Fusion (TLIF) technique; and Oblique Lateral Interbody Fusion (OLIF) for lateral spine surgery. Dr. Mahoney enhances the quality of spine care available in Flagstaff by performing these less-invasive back and neck surgeries.

Mahoney earned his Doctorate of Medicine from New York University School of Medicine, following a bachelor’s in Biological Sciences from Fordham University, New York City. After his Orthopaedic Surgery residency at the prestigious Yale University School of Medicine, in New Haven, CT, Mahoney extended his training by completing a spine fellowship program at SpineCare Medical Group in Daly City, Calif. This fellowship provided him with additional, specialized training and is a marker of a surgeon who has chosen to make the extra investment in his field of medicine.

Flagstaff and the surrounding communities are tremendously fortunate to have a physician with this level of sub-specialty expertise providing this care to the people who live here.
